Argon took a part in MY FAMICASE EXHIBITION

What is MY FAMICASE EXHIBITION? This is very very interesting event. In this event, various creators who grew with NES have designed a label of imaginary NES game title. The early part of the following video explains what MY FAMICASE EXHIBITION is to you, with English capture. (You don't need to read my poor English, so you're lucky!)

In fact, argon who is a member of XOOPS Cube community and a designer of Hoda-juku distribution took a part in this exhibition! He has worked in both video game industry and animation industry. Yes, his career is similar to my career.

His work is "The NinthRune" like Wizardry. Check it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! And, it's Japanese New Year vacation (正月休み). I came back to Hiroshima that my parents live in. My mother made osechi (お節) that is traditional Japanese New Year food. She skipped some kinds of foods because we are three, but that's enough deluxe!
In Japan, each region has different format of osechi. This is zouni (雑煮). In our region, we use oysters for zouni, because Hiroshima is the famous oysters production area.
My present for my parents is the AQUOAS HD hard-disk recorder.

After a week, I will return to my battle field Tokyo!

A station manager is a cat

See this news. Tama is a cat and is a station manager of Kishi station. She got on Santa Claus's dress.

Because there is not a project manager in the XOOPS Cube project, we may hire a cat for the project manager.

Don't Japanese people like freedom?

This article discusses the differences between Western and Japanese game design philosophies. And, it shows also differences between characteristics of their nations. The view of the article answered my questions. Japanese people don't like "Perfect Freedom". Perfect Freedom roils Japanese people, so they deny XOOPS Cube. They may like XOOPS rather than XOOPS Cube. Because XOOPS team is the centralization administrative framework.

I've forgotten that Japan is socialist countries having a title of liberalism. PFFFT!

Page 2:
"Americans are very big on personal freedom, which give a greater sense of individuality. Americans all have their own political or religious beliefs, and defend them vigorously."

"Americans love commercial competition, because it feeds capitalism and innovation. America is a country that fought for its independence primarily to grant these kind of freedoms, a nation famous for its frontier mentality."

Page 4:
"Japanese want to be able to plan, they want to have guidance, they want to have focus. To put it simply, Japanese people feel uncomfortable with the unknown and not understanding the future."

"Japanese people don't like just being dropped into a sandbox with no guidance. If you tell a Japanese person they are free to go anywhere, often times they will choose to go nowhere."

"Westerners, on the other hand, seem to be excited by the unknown. For instance, as a hunting and trapping society, an American may go deer hunting and encounter a bear. Japanese would be scared by this encounter, whereas the American will probably shoot the bear and go back excited that he got a bear instead of a deer. The unknown encounter becomes even better than the known. I feel this is the key difference."

Okay, whatever. XOOPS Cube is not Japan's. No problem. :D

Google Reader is excellent!

Google Reader is Beta, but it is really excellent RSS reader for me. The previous version of Google Reader was not good. But, it became excellent since renewal. My favorite functions are the following;

Folder
It is possible to categorize RSS feeds to folders and read all entries of a folder. This is very useful to read one category --- "XOOPS Cube". GIJOE's, ryuji's, tohokuaiki's and other writer's updates are collected to one view.

Star & Tag
Most of blogs I'm subscribing are written in English. But, because I am not good at English, I can't read an interesting entry quickly. Star & Tag are useful. I add Star or Tag to an interesting entry. By that, the entry is categorized to the special folder. So I can translate them later. Tag is not temporary stock, but permanent memorandum.

In Japan, Livedoor RSS Reader service is popular. But, I don't use it, because the view screen of this service is narrow and it doesn't have the same folder function as Google Reader. In addition, Livedoor RSS Reader doesn't match the mood of English Blogs, because it displays Japanese character.

However, Livedoor Reader may have been improved until now. Because I don't use Livedoor Reader since the first impression, I don't know the recent version of the reader.
